printing the page correctly. Also, it is useful in determining
placement of the transfer on the garment and in determining
design placement.

Some print media projects may call for specific placement of the
embroidery. There may be tiny marks on the graphic which will
align with alignment stitches in the design. I prefer to have
backgrounds where placement need not be in a specific place.
For example, this shirt
Has a blue airbrushed background printed first and the "mood
meter" sews over it. The little arrow can be moved by the wearer
to indicate their feelings any given moment.

You can make a background like this easily in Paint using the air
brush tool set at a low density and a large-sized brush. Print
templates of the designs as well as the background image. You
will be able to experiment with design placement this way. Also
the templates will be helpful references to the center point of the
designs, which will aid in placement.
