The needle will normally start at the center of the design
and jump out to begin the stitching. Knowing where the
design's center is will help you find the place in the hoop
to begin embroidery.

Once you have run a test print of the graphic, print the t-
shirt transfer, following manufacturer instructions. Trim
the transfer down to size as suggested by the
manufacturer. Iron the transfer onto the garment,
following instructions carefully. If you are printing from
one of my pdf lessons or documents, remember to adjust
your print page range so that you are only printing the
desired page, not the entire document. Apply the transfer
to the garment.

I use a hoopless embroidery technique. It allows me to
move the garment on the hoop to facilitate easier design
placement. I NEVER EVER suggest sticky backed paper
stabilizers. These are horrible. They gum up needles, and
they do a lousy job of stabilizing. Chances are the design
outline and registration will be off if you use a sticky back
paper. I hoop a layer of tearaway and a layer of polymesh
(for a knit) and spray the hooped stabilizer with
embroidery spray adhesive. Do NOT spray the garment. If
you do not have polymesh, use an appropriate weight
cutaway stabilizer for a knit and a tear away for a woven.
Place the hoop on the machine and then gently (cont.)
